What is ReAuthoring South East?
We have been awarded a new grant by Arts Council England to work with South East-based writers who are passionate about exploring innovative ways of bringing their work to new audiences.
We now invite applications for this new strand of work and will select up to six writers for participation. Applicants must be based in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey or West Sussex.
Selected writers must commit to participating in a residential programme from the evening of Friday 23 March to the afternoon of Sunday 25 March, near Tonbridge Wells in Kent. The aim of this residential will be to develop a piece of work that can be taken to existing festivals, or offered as a stand-alone event. You do not need any performance experience to participate.
The ReAuthoring Project will cover cost of residential tuition, materials, accommodation and meals. We regret that we cannot pay for your time or travel.
Following the residential programme, participants will be offered performance opportunities in at least one South East-based festival between May and September 2012.
To apply, please submit:
- a short biography (max 250 words)
- a brief account of why you would like to apply (max 250 words)
- a selection of work, published or unpublished (max 2,000 words)
All materials must be sent to hello@reauthoring.co.uk no later than 12:00 p.m. on Friday 24 February 2012. Please use the subject heading, ‘ReAuthoring South East Application’.
